Retouching Tiers – a comparison

Retouching takes a considerable amount time, attention, and detail. The final step in the workflow process for your final images is here. To help understand the difference between the tiers, refer to the above photo. Click on it for larger version.

  1. Original – the photo as shot
  2. Basic – light and color corrections applied
  3. Medium – Skin retextured with blemish and dirt removal
  4. Full – enhancing light and shadow to bring out relevant detail

Please note that my post-process does not involve over-smoothening which often results in a barbie doll-like surface which looks unnatural. I try to retain your skin’s natural complexion so your photograph more resembles you.
